As an entrepreneur, you determine when, where, and how you run your business. You have the flexibility to schedule your work days. At least, you do, for the most part, if you’ve gotten the hang of the entrepreneur lifestyle.
If you’ve been in business for awhile you know that owning your own time doesn’t really hold true in most cases. You learn quickly that your schedule is determined by your client’s schedule. This will be until you learn how to set work boundaries that will permit will you in becoming the entrepreneur that has mastered life balance.
Remember when you began to have more time to focus on your business? You believed life would be much easier than it was when you were in a corporate setting. You believed the balancing game would change and it would be in your favor. If you have both feet inside of your business, then I’m sure you’ve experienced the constant struggle of achieving a healthy balanced life.
Yes, entrepreneurship offers a high level of freedom and abundance. However, it also requires a great amount of effort to ensure that you are living a fulfilled life that reflects both productivity and divine purpose. With this in mind, it is essential to approach your business, personal needs and relationships from a holistic perspective.
So, you may be asking yourself “how do I obtain a well-balanced life as an entrepreneur?” Valid question. It’s true, you are wearing many hats and juggling a lot at a time! Let’s be honest, what is usually falling behind tends to be the self-care piece. As an entrepreneur, you enjoy being your own boss and calling the shots, but you notice the lack of effort you’ve put towards your personal life and self-care.
So what is a life balance master?
Is it someone who has it all figured out? Do they have all the answers to life and that’s why they play the balancing act so well?
The truth is, as an entrepreneur, you have the freedom to create action plans for the business, relationships, self-care, finances, spirituality, etc. You also know that the best way to reach any goal is to BE CONSISTENT. When we fail to do so we face an inability to arrive at desired outcomes, and we become overwhelmed, frustrated, and unproductive in areas that we highly value.
3 Steps to become the life balance master:
- Visualize Yourself as a Life Balance Entrepreneur. Make it a daily habit of closing your eyes and visualizing two things: 1) what you want more of in life, and 2) what you’re currently grateful for. Plant a mental image in your head answering the following: What work-life balanced combination will allow you to reach your maximum potential? What life areas most require your attention? A major piece of your “life as an entrepreneur” puzzle is knowing your desires and prioritizing them. Before you take action in your business ask yourself, “Is this a true desire for me?” You, of course, want the answer to be “Yes” at least 50% of the time.“You have the power to CHANGE, all you have to do is make a CHOICE.”
- Set a Divine Schedule. You should seek divine guidance and clarity in setting your schedule efficiently. When it comes to your business, every action should be intentional and lead toward fulfillment and purpose. Invest time in what matters to you. Ask yourself, “What work in my business is most enjoyable or important to me?” What desires do I have for my life and business that are non-negotiable? For example, schedule personal and professional daily events. Don’t forget leisure time.“BREAKTHROUGHS will cause HIGHER FREQUENCY that ATTRACTS ABUNDANCE.”
- Delegate work. Being an entrepreneur does not mean every task or project is a one-woman show. It’s okay and extremely smart to have valuable people on your team. Ask yourself, “What work can I delegate in life and business? Who can I delegate this to that is trustworthy and dependable? (i.e. work team, friend, family, etc.)” What resources are available to you now? If you are learning under a mentor you may seek their support with your goal. What are you no longer available for?For example, I am no longer available to all the work in my business alone.
Remember the goal is LIFE BALANCE. Work smarter, not harder and own your time!
